WisePorter v1.8 Release Notes

First round of 2026 updates is here

We’re starting the new year with version 1.8. It brings a number of improvements — let’s take a look at what’s new.

Clear visibility of the active environment

When working with multiple environments (typically test and production), it’s not always immediately obvious where changes are being made. This can easily lead to unintended updates.

WisePorter now clearly highlights the active environment directly in the interface. A color-coded indicator helps prevent situations where production is modified by mistake instead of test.
The indicator is fully configurable — its color, style, and label can be adjusted to match team conventions.

A product can belong to multiple hierarchies

Hierarchies in WisePorter are tree-based category structures. They are used not only for product organization, but also for parameter inheritance.

Until version 1.8, a product could belong to only one hierarchy, which often meant unnecessary compromises.

Now, a product can be assigned to multiple hierarchies at the same time. Each hierarchy keeps its own set of parameters that are automatically inherited by the product. This makes it possible to separate, for example:

  • commercial structure,
  • pricing,
  • documents and attachments.

Important tasks are processed sooner

In WisePorter, automated processes run alongside manually triggered actions such as exports or recalculations.

We now introduce task priority differentiation. Manually triggered processes are given higher priority than background tasks, so there’s no need to wait for long-running automation to finish. Priorities can also be configured per task type, ensuring critical processes always come first.

Excel imports and exports

In previous versions, we introduced a new generation of Excel imports and exports and we continue refining them.

In version 1.8, WisePorter does a better job of validating imported files. If an Excel file contains invalid or unsupported settings, the import stops immediately and clearly points out where the issue is, including the specific sheet and cell.

This makes problems visible right away and prevents partial imports that would require complex fixes later.

It is also now possible to set a default export language, independently of the application language.

Cloning without unnecessary relationships

Cloning items is a quick way to create new product variants. Previously, all relationships were automatically copied as well — such as inclusion in bundles, sets, or other structures.

This didn’t always make sense, and newly created variants could unintentionally belong where they shouldn’t.

In version 1.8, it is now possible to explicitly control which relationships are preserved during cloning. As a result, the clone is created as a standalone item, with relationships carried over only where they make sense.

Date validation

For date and date-time attributes, it is now possible to define an allowed value range. WisePorter helps catch obvious errors early, before they propagate into connected systems.

Other small improvements

  • clearer distinction between hierarchies with and without inheritance
  • more reliable automatic saving of values
  • clearer icons in the data type editor
  • safer deletion of the default business version (the system now requires selecting a new default first)

For administrators

Manual data republishing
Allows already calculated data to be republished without requiring a full recalculation.

OAuth for BE2BE communication
OAuth authentication is now available for system-to-system communication.

I'm keen to try WisePorter!
